Should we not believe a law firm’s webpage?

On January 16, 2024 during public comment at the Board of Commissioners meeting, Nicole Crosby made a point that at least the Commissioners should have hired an election attorney and went on to say that Commissioner Joseph did hire an election attorney. Ms. Ann Marie Evans also made a point to say that the Commissioners hired a non-election attorney.

Perhaps I am missing something, but Mr. Treadwell’s bio (attorney hired by the Commissioners) on the Lawson Firm’s webpage says his “education and career have also focused on First Amendment rights and election law.”  In addition, there appear to be multiple attorneys in the firm who have significant and deep experience.

Looking at the practice areas for Russell & Russell, a 2 attorney firm who represents Commissioner Joseph, their expertise appears to be civil litigation, construction litigation, criminal investigation, insurance recovery and tax controversies.

Ms. Crosby made a comment on this blog that Mr. Treadwell was not an election attorney, and I posted the two links above in response.

There was no response from Ms. Crosby. Perhaps she knows something that is not on the two law firms’ webpage?
